Mary II (Queen of England)
Mary II was Queen of England, Scotland, and Ireland from 1689 until her death in 1694. She was the daughter of James II and became queen alongside her husband, William III, after they overthrew her father during the Glorious Revolution. This event established a constitutional monarchy and reduced the power of the crown. Mary was known for her strong Protestant faith and worked to solidify Protestantism in England. Despite her short reign, she played a significant role in shaping British political and religious landscape, promoting tolerance and parliamentary governance. She died due to smallpox at age 32.
