Martel (Charles Martel)

Charles Martel was a Frankish leader and military strategist who lived in the 8th century. He is best known for his victory at the Battle of Tours in 732, where he halted the advance of Muslim forces into France. This pivotal moment is often credited with shaping the future of Europe, preserving Christianity, and allowing for the rise of the Carolingian Empire.
