Marshmallow test
The Marshmallow Test is a psychological experiment that measures a child's ability to delay gratification. A child is given a choice: they can have one marshmallow immediately or wait a short period and receive two marshmallows instead. The test evaluates self-control, with the ability to wait indicating better impulse regulation. Researchers found that children who can wait tend to perform better academically and socially later in life, highlighting the importance of self-control in personal development.
