Marine Iguana
The Marine Iguana is a unique reptile native to the Galápagos Islands, known for its ability to forage in the ocean. It has a robust body, spiny crest along its back, and powerful claws for swimming and climbing. Unlike most lizards, it feeds primarily on seaweed, which it scrapes from rocks, using its sharp teeth. Adapted to a marine lifestyle, it can dive submerged for several minutes. Despite their cold-blooded nature, they regulate their body temperature by basking in the sun. These iguanas are social animals, often seen in groups, and are the only lizards that have adapted to an entirely aquatic diet.
