Mariana Bracetti

Mariana Bracetti (1825-1905) was a prominent Puerto Rican independence activist and a key figure in the struggle for Puerto Rican sovereignty from Spanish rule. Known for her bravery, she played a significant role in the Grito de Lares, a revolutionary uprising in 1868 aimed at freeing Puerto Rico from colonial domination.
