For instance, the surface of a sphere is a 2-dimensional manifold; if you zoom in on any small area, it looks flat like a plane. Manifolds can have various dimensions and are crucial for understanding concepts in topology, geometry, and physics, such as the shapes of the universe or the behavior of curves and surfaces.
