Malvina (Spanish name for the islands)
Malvina, known as the Falkland Islands in English, are two main islands located in the South Atlantic Ocean, east of South America. They are a British Overseas Territory with a small population, primarily of British descent. The islands feature rugged landscapes, including mountains, beaches, and grasslands, supporting wildlife like penguins, seals, and seabirds. Historically, they have been subject to sovereignty disputes between Britain and Argentina, which claims the islands. Despite their remote location, the Falklands play a role in regional geopolitics, wildlife conservation, and maritime activities. The local economy largely depends on fishing, tourism, and sheep farming.
