Malta Individual Investor Programme

The Malta Individual Investor Programme (MIIP) was a citizenship program that allowed individuals and their families to obtain Maltese citizenship in exchange for a significant financial contribution to the country. This typically involved donating a sum to the National Development and Social Fund, investing in government-approved financial instruments, and purchasing or renting property in Malta. The program aimed to attract foreign investment and boost the Maltese economy. However, it faced scrutiny over concerns about due diligence and the integrity of citizenship, leading to its closure in 2020, after which the Maltese government shifted focus to other residency programs.
