
Malaysian government
The Malaysian government is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system. The King, known as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, is the ceremonial head of state, elected every five years from among the nine Malay state rulers. The Prime Minister is the head of government, leading the executive branch and elected from the Parliament. Malaysia has a bicameral legislature, consisting of the House of Representatives and the Senate. The government is structured to maintain a balance between federal and state powers, with various political parties representing Malaysia's diverse population. The legal system is based on both civil and Islamic law.
