Malaria Control Programs
Malaria control programs aim to reduce and eventually eliminate malaria by using various strategies. These include distributing insecticide-treated bed nets to prevent mosquito bites, applying indoor residual spraying to kill mosquitoes, providing effective medication for those infected, and improving surveillance to detect and respond to cases quickly. Education campaigns also raise awareness about prevention. Combining these efforts can significantly decrease malaria transmission, protect vulnerable populations, and save lives, especially in affected regions. The goal is to interrupt the cycle of mosquito-borne transmission and move toward eradication of the disease.
