Maku'a language

Maku'a is the traditional language of the indigenous Maku'a people of Papua New Guinea, specifically spoken in the Madang Province. It is part of the Trans–New Guinea language family, characterized by complex verb structures and a rich system of noun classifiers. Maku'a plays a vital role in cultural identity and oral traditions, although it is considered endangered due to community language shift towards more widely spoken languages like Tok Pisin and English. Efforts are underway to preserve and document Maku'a to maintain its linguistic heritage for future generations.
