Maktab al-Khidamat
Maktab al-Khidamat, also known as MAK, was an organization founded in the late 1980s to support and recruit Muslim volunteers for jihad, particularly during the Afghan-Soviet war. It provided logistical, financial, and ideological support, helping militants travel to Afghanistan to fight against Soviet forces. Over time, MAK served as a networking hub, evolving to influence and aid later extremist groups like al-Qaeda. It played a significant role in the development of Islamist militancy by facilitating the mobilization and support of fighters worldwide.
