Make-to-Order (MTO) is a manufacturing approach where products are only produced after a customer places an order. Unlike mass production, which manufactures large quantities of standardized items in advance, MTO allows for customization and reduced inventory costs. This method is suitable for products that require specific features or configurations, as it ensures the item is made to the customer's exact specifications. Once the order is received, the manufacturing process begins, which might take additional time compared to pre-made products, but it results in a tailored product that directly meets the customer's needs.
