
Mahatma Phule
Mahatma Jyotirao Phule (1827-1890) was an Indian social reformer, thinker, and activist from Maharashtra. He is best known for advocating for the rights of marginalized communities, particularly women and lower-caste individuals. Phule challenged the caste system and promoted education for all, founding the first modern school for girls in India. He worked alongside his wife, Savitribai Phule, to advance social justice and equality.
