MACV

MACV, or Military Assistance Command, Vietnam, was the U.S. military organization responsible for advising, supporting, and directing American armed forces operating in South Vietnam during the Vietnam War (1965-1973). Its mission was to assist South Vietnamese military efforts against communist North Vietnam and Viet Cong forces. MACV coordinated military strategies, provided training, logistics, and intelligence, serving as the primary command for U.S. military operations in Vietnam. It played a crucial role in implementing U.S. policies in the conflict until troop withdrawals began following the Paris Peace Accords.
