Lower Navarre dialect
Lower Navarre dialect, known as "Nafarroa Beherea" in Basque, is a variety of the Basque language (Euskara) spoken in the Lower Navarre region of France. It is characterized by its unique phonetic, grammatical, and lexical features, distinguishing it from other Basque dialects such as Gipuzkoan or Bizkaian. Although it shares a common root with the Basque language, Lower Navarre has influences from French and features that reflect its historical, cultural, and geographical context. It is one of the few remaining dialects of Basque actively spoken today, reflecting the region's rich heritage and cultural identity.
