Louis Renault was a prominent French engineer and industrialist, best known for founding the Renault automobile company. He played a key role in developing France’s automotive industry and contributed innovative car designs. During World War I, Renault's company supplied vehicles and equipment to the French military. After the war, he expanded his business, making Renault one of Europe's leading car manufacturers. However, during World War II, Renault was accused of collaborating with Nazi Germany, leading to his arrest and imprisonment. He died in 1944 before his trial concluded. His legacy is significant in the history of automotive engineering and French industry.
