Longobards

The Longobards, also known as the Lombards, were a Germanic people who migrated to Italy in the 6th century CE. Originally from northern Europe, they settled in what is now Italy after the fall of the Western Roman Empire. Known for their warrior culture, they established a kingdom that significantly shaped Italian history and influenced its culture. Their reign lasted until they were eventually conquered by the Franks in the late 8th century.
