London Controlling Section
The London Controlling Section was a secret British military unit during World War II responsible for planning and managing strategic deception operations. Its goal was to mislead the enemy about Allied intentions, troop movements, and locations, often through false information, dummy equipment, and misinformation campaigns. By controlling these deceptions, they aimed to confuse and divert German forces, increasing the chances of Allied success in key operations, including the D-Day invasion. The section worked clandestinely, coordinating with other intelligence agencies to ensure the deception was convincing and effective.
