London Conference

The London Conference, held in 1933, was a meeting of international financial officials aimed at addressing the global economic crisis caused by the Great Depression. Countries discussed how to stabilize currencies, restore international trade, and rebuild economic stability. It sought coordinated efforts to prevent competitive devaluations and protect the international monetary system. Although it made some progress, lasting solutions were limited, and economic recovery remained challenging. The conference was an early attempt at international cooperation to manage financial crises and economic stability in a globally interconnected world.
