Lomekwian

Lomekwian refers to an ancient stone tool industry discovered in Lomekwi, Kenya, dating back about 3.3 million years. It represents some of the earliest known usage of tools by hominins, predating the more recognizable Acheulean tools. The Lomekwian tools are primarily made from rocks and include large flakes and cores, indicating a significant leap in cognitive and manual skills among early human ancestors. This discovery provides insights into the technological and evolutionary advancements of our ancestors, highlighting their ability to create tools long before the appearance of Homo habilis, often considered the first tool-making hominin.
