Lockean philosophy
Lockean philosophy, developed by John Locke, emphasizes that individuals have natural rights to life, liberty, and property, which everyone is born with. He believed the mind starts as a "blank slate" (tabula rasa), and knowledge comes from experience and senses. Locke argued that governments should protect these rights, and if they fail, people have the right to overthrow them. His ideas laid the foundation for modern liberal democracy, stressing personal freedom, equality, and the importance of reason and empirical evidence in understanding the world.
