Liver Fibrosis

Liver fibrosis is the gradual scarring of the liver tissue, often due to long-term damage from conditions like chronic alcohol use, viral hepatitis, or fatty liver disease. When the liver is injured, it tries to repair itself, leading to the buildup of fibrous tissue. This scarring can impair liver function and, if severe, may progress to cirrhosis, a more serious condition that can lead to liver failure. Early detection and treatment of the underlying causes can help prevent further damage and improve liver health.
