Lithium hydroxide

Lithium hydroxide is a chemical compound made from lithium and hydroxide ions. It appears as a white, caustic solid and is used mainly to absorb carbon dioxide in environments like spacecraft and submarines, where removing CO₂ is critical for safety. It is also employed in the manufacturing of ceramics and certain batteries. Because it reacts readily with water and acids, handling requires care. Lithium hydroxide plays an important role in supporting safe, controlled conditions in specialized industrial and technological applications.
