Linton's Law

Linton's Law, named after social scientist Ralph Linton, suggests that the amount of knowledge an individual possesses is inversely proportional to the size of the community they belong to. In simpler terms, as people live in larger or more complex societies, they often rely on shared knowledge and expertise rather than possessing extensive personal knowledge themselves. This means that in smaller groups, individuals may know a lot about various topics, while in larger societies, their knowledge tends to be more specialized, with individuals focusing on specific areas and depending on others for broader information.
