Lightning Bolt

A lightning bolt is a powerful electrical discharge that occurs during a thunderstorm. It is caused by the buildup and release of electrical energy between clouds or between a cloud and the ground. When the electrical energy overcomes the air's resistance, it creates a bright flash of light, which we see as lightning. The rapid heating of the air around the bolt causes a shock wave, resulting in thunder. Lightning is not only spectacular but also dangerous, as it can cause fires, power outages, and injuries. Understanding its nature helps in taking safety precautions during storms.
