Lewis and Harris
Lewis and Harris are two connected islands forming the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, sharing a cultural and historical identity. Lewis, the larger island, features rugged coastlines, archaeological sites, and a mountainous landscape. Harris, south of Lewis, is known for its stunning beaches, such as Luskentyre, and more rugged terrain. While geographically separate, they are often collectively referred to as one entity, with strong Gaelic traditions, unique local communities, and a rich heritage rooted in fishing, crofting, and Gaelic culture. Their distinct landscapes and shared history make them a notable and picturesque part of Scotland's island geography.
