Leverett's Law

Leverett's Law describes how fluid flows through porous materials, like oil through rock. It states that the pressure difference needed to drive the fluid flow depends on the saturation level of the fluid within the pore spaces. Essentially, as more of the pore space is filled with fluid, it requires more pressure to push additional fluid through.
