
Leopold I (Holy Roman Emperor)
Leopold I was the Holy Roman Emperor from 1658 to 1705, a ruler of central Europe who aimed to strengthen the empire and defend Catholicism amidst wars and political challenges. He worked to expand Habsburg territories, including efforts in Hungary and against the Ottoman Turks. Leopold was also involved in European alliances and conflicts, notably the War of the Spanish Succession.
