Lent
Lent is a significant season in the Christian calendar, lasting about 40 days before Easter. It commemorates the time Jesus spent fasting in the wilderness. Traditionally, Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and involves practices such as fasting, prayer, and almsgiving, allowing Christians to reflect, repent, and prepare for Easter. Many choose to give up certain luxuries or habits as a form of self-discipline. The purpose of Lent is to deepen one's faith, strengthen one's relationship with God, and remember the sacrifice of Jesus. It ends with Holy Week, which leads into the celebration of Easter.
