Later Stone Age
The Later Stone Age (LSA) refers to a period in human prehistory, roughly from around 50,000 years ago until the introduction of metal tools about 2,000 years ago. During this time, humans continued to develop advanced stone tools, but also started using materials like bone, ochre, and shell. It saw the emergence of more complex behaviors, such as hunting with composite tools, creating art, and developing early forms of social organization. The LSA reflects significant cultural and technological innovations in human history, building on previous stone tool periods and leading toward the development of more complex societies.
