Late Triassic
The Late Triassic is a period approximately 237 to 201 million years ago, marking the final chapter of the Triassic Era. During this time, Earth’s continents were merging into the supercontinent Pangaea, resulting in dry, arid environments. It's notable for the rise of dinosaurs, which became the dominant land animals, alongside early crocodiles and mammals. The climate was generally warm, with little polar ice. This period ended with a significant mass extinction event that wiped out many species, paving the way for the Jurassic period and the age of dinosaurs.
