Laryngeal nerve

The laryngeal nerve is a crucial nerve that supplies nerves to the voice box (larynx), controlling muscles responsible for speech, breathing, and swallowing. It is a branch of the vagus nerve and has two main paths: the recurrent laryngeal nerve, which loops around arteries in the chest before reaching the larynx, and the superior laryngeal nerve, which supplies the upper part of the larynx. Its proper function ensures clear voice production and safe swallowing. Damage to this nerve can lead to hoarseness, voice loss, or breathing difficulties.
