Land Bridge Theory
The Land Bridge Theory proposes that during periods of low sea levels, such as ice ages, land connected continents that are now separated by oceans. For example, it suggests that early humans migrated from Asia to North America via a land bridge called Beringia, which once connected Siberia and Alaska. These land connections allowed plants, animals, and humans to move across continents more easily. When the ice age ended and sea levels rose, the land bridges disappeared underwater, isolating populations and shaping the distribution of species and cultures globally.
