La Demajagua

La Demajagua is a historic estate located in Cuba, known for its significance in the country's fight for independence. Owned by Cuban revolutionary Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, it was the site of Cuba’s first major uprising in 1868, when Céspedes issued the "Grito de Yara" to start the struggle against Spanish colonial rule. The estate's sugar mill and plantation symbolize Cuba’s colonial past and the beginning of the island’s fight for sovereignty. Today, La Demajagua serves as a museum and national monument, celebrating Cuba’s history of resistance and independence.
