Kyoto Mechanisms
The Kyoto Mechanisms are international tools created to help countries reduce their greenhouse gas emissions more efficiently. They include: Emissions Trading, where countries buy and sell emission allowances; Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), which allows developed countries to invest in emission-reduction projects in developing countries for credits; and Joint Implementation (JI), enabling developed countries to fund projects in other developed nations for emissions reduction credits. These mechanisms promote cost-effective ways to combat climate change by encouraging cooperation and technological innovation across borders.
