Kurdistan Regional Government

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is the authorities that govern the Kurdish region in northern Iraq. It has its own regional parliament, military (Peshmerga), and manages local laws, education, and economy. Although part of Iraq, the KRG operates with a significant degree of autonomy, reflecting the Kurdish people's desire for self-rule. It was established to promote Kurdish culture, political rights, and development within the framework of Iraq's federal system. The KRG seeks to protect Kurdish interests and maintain stability and security in the region amid complex national and regional dynamics.
