Kudzu

Kudzu is a fast-growing, invasive vine native to Asia that was introduced to the United States for ornamental and erosion control purposes. It can quickly cover trees, buildings, and landscapes, often choking out native plants and disrupting ecosystems. Kudzu's rapid growth stems from its ability to extend several feet in a single day, and it can create dense mats that shade out native vegetation. While it has some uses, such as for animal feed and traditional medicine in its native range, in many parts of the U.S., it is considered a problematic weed that requires management to prevent ecological damage.
