Kosovo (UN Resolution 1244)

UN Security Council Resolution 1244, adopted in 1999, established Kosovo as an autonomous province within Serbia following a conflict. It authorized an international peacekeeping mission to maintain stability and oversee self-governance, while reaffirming Serbia’s sovereignty over Kosovo. The resolution aimed to ensure peace, protect human rights, and facilitate the province's future status, which has remained a subject of international debate.
