Korean Workers' Party
The Korean Workers' Party (KWP) is the ruling political party in North Korea, founded in 1945. It follows a Marxist-Leninist ideology and plays a central role in the country’s governance and society. The KWP is led by a Supreme Leader, currently Kim Jong-un, and enforces strict control over all aspects of life, including the economy, media, and political expression. The party promotes the cult of personality around its leaders and prioritizes military strength and self-reliance, often referred to as “Juche.” The KWP’s influence shapes North Korea's policies and its isolationist stance in international relations.
