Korea under Japanese rule

Korea under Japanese rule (1910-1945) was a period when Japan occupied Korea, controlling its government, economy, and society. The Japanese imposed policies aimed at assimilating Koreans, suppressing Korean culture, language, and traditions. Koreans faced forced labor, cultural repression, and political restrictions, leading to widespread resentment. This period also saw significant resistance movements. The occupation ended with Japan’s defeat in World War II, and Korea was liberated, eventually leading to the division into North and South Korea.
