Koneru Humpy is an Indian chess grandmaster and one of the world’s top female players. Born on March 31, 1997, she gained prominence in chess at an early age, becoming the youngest woman ever to achieve the title of grandmaster in 2002. Known for her strategic prowess and ambitious style of play, Humpy won the Women's World Rapid Chess Championship in 2019 and the Women's World Chess Championship in 2020. She is celebrated not only for her achievements in chess but also for inspiring young players, especially women, to excel in a traditionally male-dominated field.
