Kon-Tiki raft

The Kon-Tiki raft was an expedition by Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl in 1947, aiming to prove that ancient peoples could have traveled across oceans using simple wooden rafts. Made from balsa wood and tied with natural fibers, the raft resembled traditional South American vessels. Heyerdahl and his team sailed from South America to the Polynesian Islands, demonstrating that such voyages were possible with primitive technology. The journey showcased the ingenuity of ancient maritime techniques and contributed to understanding prehistoric transoceanic contact. Today, the Kon-Tiki remains a symbol of human curiosity, adventure, and the enduring quest to understand our past.
