Knowledge of Language

Knowledge of language is the subconscious ability we all have that allows us to understand, produce, and interpret language correctly in various contexts. It includes knowing vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and how to use language appropriately based on social cues. This mental knowledge guides us in forming sentences, recognizing meaning, and adapting our language to different situations without needing to think about rules consciously. Essentially, it’s the internal system that makes fluent and meaningful communication possible, formed through exposure and learning from our environment.
