Knoppix

Knoppix is a type of operating system called a Linux distribution that can run directly from a CD, DVD, or USB drive without needing to install it on a computer’s hard drive. It allows users to access and use their computer, troubleshoot issues, or recover files independently of the existing installed operating system. Because it runs entirely from the removable media, it’s portable, easy to try out, and useful for system repair or data recovery. Knoppix is also based on Linux, making it a flexible and open-source alternative to Windows or macOS.
