Klumpke's palsy

Klumpke's palsy is a type of paralysis caused by injury to the lower nerves of the brachial plexus, a network of nerves sending signals from the spinal cord to the arm and hand. This injury typically results from a stretching or tearing of these nerves, often during difficult childbirth or trauma. It primarily affects muscles controlling the movement of the hand and wrist, leading to weakness or paralysis in those areas, and can cause a characteristic claw-like hand deformity. Recovery depends on the severity of the nerve damage and may involve physical therapy or surgery.
