Kleine-Levin Syndrome

Kleine-Levin Syndrome (KLS) is a rare sleep disorder characterized by episodes of excessive sleep and changes in behavior. Individuals with KLS can sleep for long periods, often up to 20 hours a day, and may wake up feeling confused or irritable. During these episodes, they might also experience changes in appetite, often craving unusual foods, and may withdraw from social activities. The exact cause is unclear, but KLS typically affects young adults and can resolve over time. Treatment focuses on managing symptoms, as there is no known cure.
