Kip Thorne (author)

Kip Thorne is an eminent American theoretical physicist known for his work in gravitational physics and astrophysics. He played a key role in the design and implementation of the LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory) project, which successfully detected gravitational waves for the first time in 2015, confirming a major prediction of Einstein's General Relativity. Thorne is also a co-founder of the influential scientific collaboration that aims to observe cosmic events. In addition to his research, he has authored popular science books and was a producer on the film "Interstellar," effectively bridging science and public understanding.
