Kingdom of Meroë
The Kingdom of Meroë was an ancient African civilization located in what is now Sudan, thriving from around 800 BCE to 350 CE. It was the southern capital of the Kingdom of Kush and known for its iron production, rich trade networks, and distinctive pyramids. Meroë served as a cultural center, with its own written language, religious practices, and art. The kingdom played a crucial role in the trade between Africa and the Mediterranean, exchanging goods like gold and ivory. Its decline was influenced by ecological changes and competition from neighboring powers, leading to its eventual fall.
