The Kingdom of Israel was an ancient state that existed from around 1050 to 722 BCE in the region now known as northern Israel and parts of neighboring areas. It emerged from the unification of various Israelite tribes under leaders like Saul, David, and Solomon. This kingdom is notable for its cultural and religious developments, including the construction of the First Temple in Jerusalem. Eventually, Israel split into two kingdoms: Israel in the north and Judah in the south. The Assyrian Empire conquered the northern Kingdom of Israel in 722 BCE, leading to significant shifts in the region's demographics and power dynamics.
